Dijital Media

The Start of Dijital Media

While earning my Bachelor of Science degree, I was working part-time as an IT Manager to help pay for school.

The company I worked for, Smart Office Advisors, warehoused, refurbished and sold office furniture.

There, I saw an opportunity to help improve how inventory data was being stored and marketed. I developed a simple PHP/MySql inventory management system that made it easy to add, update and index site content.

Over the next year and a half, I continued to evolve the features and framework, while learning all about Search Engine Optimization.

Using a combination of site metrics and A/B testing, I was able to determine the right blend of keywords and define a lucrative content strategy.

That strategy proved so effective that SOA site traffic went up exponentially. Following that surge, the company was acquired just as I was preparing to graduate.

In June of 2008, I graduated with Highest Honors, earning my Bachelor of Science Degree in Digital Entertainment & Game Design.

With encouragement from my family, and only my savings, I incorporated Dijital Media and drew a business plan around the flagship product – the Dijital Media Inventory Management System – or DMIMS.

DMIMS 1.0

Though technically in-use before 1.0, this release milestone marked the first time my platform was being actively marketed and sold as a subscription service.

With three tiers, each targeting increasingly larger businesses respectively, I was able to provide a great ROI regardless of budget.

OFDA Conference 2009

Invited by conference organizers, I had the privilege of presenting online marketing and content strategy to a large audience of Office Furniture industry professionals.

Below is a video I rendered from the presentation I designed and delivered in Keynote.

Some DMIMS Clients

By the end of 2009, DMIMS enjoyed a substantial number of recurring clients and served as the financial anchor for Dijital Media.

SlideIt! iPhone Game

With DMIMS thriving, and having hired a single full-time employee, I began to explore iPhone development.

Following the iPhone 3G launch, Apple had opened up the developer program and provided an SDK. I quickly purchased a license and necessary infrastructure to prepare for development.

With my background in Game Design, and through hiring a friend and former-classmate with a great idea, I produced SlideIt! for iPhone.

Released just before Christmas in 2008, SlideIt! enjoyed a great audience and further fueled Dijital Media during one of the longest recessions in U.S. history.

Comprehensive Online Marketing

While competitors were selling websites, I was offering results, using dynamic websites, social media, SEO, multimedia and graphic design.

I made the video below to use in a bank-lobby promotional display – in partnership with my friends at the local Commerce Bank. It depicts various sites and services I rendered as Dijital Media, between 2009-2011.
